I hired Rendered Stone to weed and cut back a very overgrown garden at surrounding my new house. They did a great job and I have continued to use them for ongoing yard and garden maintenance. The do a great job with upkeep and one of the owners, John, checks in to see how they are doing and what gardening goals I have. They maintain the sprinkler system, feed the plants, and prune back bushes in an artistic way so that everything looks gorgeous and balanced. The other owner, Spyce, is crystal clear with communications regarding shifts in staff or appointment dates and times. I can't recommend them enough!

Spyce and John were easy to work with, knowledgeable and flexible. They took our budget into consideration when designing our garden, along with our preferences and concerns. Their team was efficient, professional and communicative and we are very happy with the results! They extended an old rock wall by hand placing stones so it was all cohesive and the result was beautiful! They were able to keep the rustic charm that we fell in love with when we bought our home. We spend so much more time in the backyard, enjoying the sound of our new fountain, and watching the hummingbirds and bees buzz around our flowers.

Rendered Stone worked with me on a tight schedule and delivered a new irrigation system on a complicated property with various elevations. They provided new plantings and guidance on selections for sun or shade. They were able to include my top priorities within my desired budget and completed the project as scheduled. The garden looks great and I look forward to watching the plants grow and not worrying about watering by hand in the hot summers.

Rendered Stone did an absolutely fantastic job, from start to finish, building a patio for our backyard. In the ideation stage, they were detailed and thoughtful, walking us through various options and helping us understand the relative value of certain decisions. The outcome of those conversations led to a better, more cost-effective project plan. From there, they were extremely communicative about the timeline to complete the work and engaged us to make important decisions along the way. I can't say enough about how careful and focused they were on every detail, both in terms of design and functionality. Because of that, we have a beautiful patio with an effective drainage system that easily handled our massive rain storms this winter! Lastly, and most importantly to us, they were fun and easy to work with, a true pleasure. Highly recommend!

Our experience with Rendered Stone was excellent, from start to finish. We initially started our total backyard renovation with a different landscape architect. After becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the communication and design elements with that other firm we contacted Spyce and John at Rendered Stone. Thank goodness we did. They were able to pick up the existing designs and offered cost-effective and design tweaks that just made sense. Our backyard was almost entirely redone. Everything was smooth - they were on time every day and kept in close communication every step of the way. They came in exactly on budget and continued to find innovative ways to keep costs down. Overall it was such a pleasure to work with them and as a result we have a backyard we absolutely love. 5 stars for Rendered Stone.

Rendered Stone started with us in Spring 2022. We had been dropped by one medium sized company and were unhappy with the large company who was doing the landscaping before them. We are a 32 unit condominium complex in Alameda. It is a mid century building from the 60s and, given the age of the building, we are in constant update mode. When Rendered Stone started, we had just completed a mulching project to eliminate a lot of grass and watering in the outside areas - about 3000 sq feet. We are still in the process of doing things step by step with the landscaping there, doing a lot ourselves, and are getting there. In the meantime, Rendered Stone has been wonderfully non-judgemental about regularly helping us keep things looking nice in all areas of the property, checking our irrigation and keeping track of the larger property needs. It has been a relief to be able to work with a smaller, yet professional company who can work with us as we improve our curb appeal as well our own enjoyment of where we live. We know they can do much more “all inclusive” projects, but for us we are getting the help and upkeep we need. I have no reservations in recommending Rendered Stone to others who are looking for a partner in improving their landscaping. Thanks for renewing our faith in a landscaping company!

They were great! I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted but explained the outcome I was hoping for and Spyce offered up some ideas and gave me a sense of costs. Ultimately they gave us exactly what we were looking for and did a great job. They were professional, efficient, and great communicators. Highly recommend!

It was a pleasure to meet and consult with John and his wife Spyce to inquire about ideas on how to pave an area in front of my house. They were very professional, friendly and eagerly shared ideas as well as methods for properly installing pavers with quality materials that would ensure longevity of the project.

After many years of procrastination and neglect, I finally found someone to landscape my front and back yards. I'm incredibly happy with the work that Rendered Stone did and was surprised to be their first Alameda client (they work all over the East Bay). I had ideas of what I wanted and they were very collaborative and flexible on the design and build process, while giving plenty of guidance. They even came in under their original estimate! I love the outcome and highly recommend them.

John and Spyce did an amazing job with our backyard patio. We worked on the design together, and came up with something we love, with lots of beautiful curves. Their feedback and ideas were excellent, both on the design and the materials. John's install was meticulous. They were on budget and on time - a pretty rare combination. We have a small Albany backyard, and it's been transformed - we're so happy with it.
